I purchased about 25 square feet of Brazilian rosewood through eBay a couple of years ago. I won't tell you what I paid cuz you'd be jealous . Anyway, even though I am making an Indian rosewood classical, would it look stupid to bookmatch some Brazilian on the head? This is all flitch cut stuff and is .6 mm thick, the same as LMII sells and it is simply gorgeous! I'd rather use it this way than do what I originally intended which was to build a humidor .

Regards, Steve Brown

Indian rosewood SJ with brazilian headplate and bridge. Does it look
stupid to you?

Steve,

It would look great! I would not hesitate to use it.

Uh... Thanks. I'd hoped that is what you would say! Well, I have about enough BR for my first 75 guitars or so! Hot dog!!

Steve--notice on John's guitar how the shades of rosewood match so well. Even though different species, they are both quite dark, and so look appropriate together.
At least that's how it looks to me from the pic...
John, is that picture fairly accurate?

If it looks like any of the above pics of john's guitars...I'd have to say it will look spectacular!

Even on an IRW guitar I generally use Brazilian for the headplate and the bridge (often the bindings too). It helps if it matches the bridge.

Best wishes,
Joshua
